The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Annie Guédras.

The present work is dedicated to Frosca (Euphrasia Munster, called Frosca). Frosca, a Russian aristocrat who fled the Bolshevik Revolution, was a close friend of Jean Cocteau and the painter Jean Hugo, whose companion she was for a time.
Condition Report

Framed: 21 x 18 1/2 x 1/2 inches.

Sheet is hinged to backing board on upper left and lower left verso corners; moderate waviness to sheet, with a small area of distortion in the upper left corner; one micro-tear along lower right edge, no greater in length than 1/8 inch, and accompanied by a small crease; a faint diagonal crease through the lower right corner; small spots of brown staining scattered along lower edge, likely inherent to the artwork.
